Industrial robots are nowadays used for machine tool loading and unloading instead of operators to complete operations such as workpiece transfer, handling, flipping, process conversion and a series of loading and unloading tasks on automatic processing equipment, CNC lathe, stamping, forging and other machine tools, which can reduce production costs, improve efficiency and product quality as well as enhance the economic efficiency of enterprises. We designed chain feeding device for multi-joint industrial robots and pneumatic double grippers for grabing of axle-liked parts, so that the robot is very convenient to pick from the rack and send to the CNC lathe fixture. The robot grips back to the rack, removes the machined workpieces, and grips the workpiece to be machined. The robot completes all the work of picking, clamping, unloading and workpiece conveying according to the production beat. It can greatly reduce human error, so that the CNC lathe standby time is almost zero and the utilization of machine tools increased by 25% or even more.
The use of robots not only reduces the labor costs, but also regulates the operation and controls the production beat. There is no human interference to reduce production time, thus the efficiency is ensured and production plan and delivery never affected.
